Face off

This drama and media pilot project engages with young people, looking at 'new ways of thinking about old problems'.

Working with the participants, 'Face off', considers and examines relevant and current issues facing young people today and explores new solutions to resolve them. Participants are fully involved in the process throughout and the project provides an interactive, creative and experiential opportunity to influence the way young people view and respond to situations that occur in their lives.

During the sessions, facilitators' will workshop ideas with young people, resulting in the production of a short scene depicting an issue that is relevant to them. The sessions include guided improvisation; trust and role-play games, discussion, movement, and drama. Acted scenarios are scripted with participants and a drama devised, performed and filmed. Engagement in this experience, allows participants to develop 'ownership' of the material and thereby fully integrate the learning. This process will enable them to be in a position to share the experience and knowledge they have gained with others.

This pilot provides the opportunity to work with professional facilitators, to explore concepts and attitudes, and to devise their own drama and filmed communication of the knowledge and its application. The project explores the life wisdoms that could make, or have made a difference to their lives, and through film, delivers this material to a new and wider audience.
